Falsetto part

He sang it on the original hit version of "Sugar Baby Love" but after that he went solo. On re-recordings of "Sugar Baby Love" Alan Williams is singing.83.85.143.141 (talk) 03:58, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

Not all singles releases included

A popular song, "Julia", has been released in the summer of 1976, but somehow didn't chart in the UK, but did in Germany. Anyway, the discography of singles should be expanded to show the charts performances. Recent edits

This article has a long history of edits - mostly poorly worded, improperly referenced or unreferenced, etc. - being made by unregistered editors or single purpose accounts with a clear conflict of interest in that they are obviously involved in one or other factions in the group's history, and seek to present the article in the best possible light to them. This self-promotion is not what Wikipedia is for. The best solution would probably be to delete the whole article and start it again from scratch, based on reliable sources. However, in the past I've taken a lenient view and only sought to correct the most obvious formatting errors, peacock wording, etc., that has been introduced. Currently, we have an unregistered editor, apparently based in Brisbane, Australia, who is trying to insist on a wording full of basic grammatical and referencing errors, and edit-warring to that end. If they would like to engage in discussion on this page, that's fine, but as things stand I'm minded to suggest protecting the article to try and maintain at least some of its integrity as an encyclopedia article. I see from his Facebook page that Alan Williams, lead singer of “The Rubettes featuring Alan Williams”, has recently moved to Australia. Alan Williams

In this edit, Alan Williams says that he has edited the article in the past. That is contrary to WP:COI and various warnings going back over some time. If he (or others) would like to explain how the article should be corrected in future, I'm sure that independent editors would be happy to make those changes, so long as they comply with guidance on sourcing, etc. But, neither Mr Williams nor others connected with the band, now or in the past, should be editing the article themselves. Gotcha! I've no problem with that. So just to recap any proposed changes/updates are filed here and you decide which are truthful and relevant and update or not as the case may be. Sounds reasonable. Just for starters I did sing on the record in the backing chorus. The way you present it insinuates that I took no part at all and merely replaced Da Vinci at a later date. Not true and I have testament proof filed in evidence at Court as part of the Hurd/Williams court action 2005. You are obviously unaware that Da Vinci was also a defendant in that action with Hurd but unlike Hurd he didn't succumb to bankruptcy. My apologies, I didn't realise that you'd responded here yesterday (at the last count I have over 17,000 articles that I am "watching"). The point you are missing is that Wikipedia is an independently-produced summary of information that has already been published - not necessarily what article subjects believe to be true, or would like to see published about themselves. Therefore, it would be extremely helpful if you could set out, very specifically, paragraph by paragraph, what you believe to be untrue or unfair in the article, and we can then see whether and how it can be changed. Contempt of a recent court order

Wikipedia's posting of Rubettes featuring John, Mick and Steve and related content is in contempt of a recent High Court order injunction which forbids the names John Richardson, Mick Clarke and Steve Etherington to be associated with the band name Rubettes which is displayed under the heading of Separate Projects 2000 - Present as is supported by the article following under the heading of 2022 High Court ownership ruling. I wish to draw to your attention to injunctions 3 and 4 of the Holding order issued 28th July 2022 and to the penal notice that proceeds the details of the order of which your posting, if allowed to remain, is in contempt of. Rubettes ft john mick and steve

this breakaway group disbanded after Steve etherington left. The following court order forbids the name Rubettes to be associated with john mick and steve. 'At least' please show as being disbanded and edit out 'present' as far as active dates go. The substantive claim being made here by Zorbakth is that "The Rubettes featuring John Mick & Steve" no longer perform, as Steve Etherington left after four shows, and that it is therefore not correct to describe that lineup as still existing at the present time. The Daily Mail article here covering the court case indeed states that "Mr Etherington has now quit the band". Assuming that the DM is reliable in this instance, it does now seem reasonable to amend the article text to some extent - although it is clear, and we should report, that Etherington was among those who did perform as "The Rubettes" for a period in the past.
