What is it with people writing this and all articles associated with Jamiroquai. Aren't you familiar with what an encyclopedia is meant to be? Whether or not this album is a classic is an opinion, not a fact, and so has no place in an encyclopedia. pomegranate 13:19, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Track List

This is not the tracklist which appears on my version of the same album. I have checked this with the Gracenote CDDB twice now, and the official album case agrees that the order should be as follows:

  1. Just Another Story
  2. Stillness In Time
  3. Half The Man
  4. Light Years
  5. Manifest Destiny
  6. The Kids
  7. Mr. Moon
  8. Scam
  9. Journey To Arnheimland
  10. Morning Glory
  11. Space Cowboy

Maybe I have the UK version, or can anyone offer a better explanation?

I think it probably is the UK version, if you check amazon.com's page, the tracklisting appears as in the article, and again at allmusic's page Mallocks 09:49, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
Or perhaps the tracklis has copied wrongly from amazon to allmusic and Wikipedia? Does anyone HAVE the album with that tracklist where Space Cowboy is number one?--Deadworm222 21:17, August 5, 2005 (UTC)
Oh, wait. There's an extra track there, too... So apparently it is the correct non-UK tracklist. Is this worth mentioning in the article itself?--Deadworm222 21:19, August 5, 2005 (UTC)
I'll leave that one up to you, it seems quite common to add notes to the end of the tracklisting, as long as it's neat I for one have no problem with it. Mallocks 21:30, 5 August 2005 (UTC)
Well, seeing as the UK release is the first and actual release, I think it might be better to put the actual version and note the U.S. differences. But change it back if you like. Danny Lilithborne 06:24, 29 August 2005 (UTC)

Added cleanup tag

There is some poor phrasing in this article:

  • 'This album has become somewhat uncommon in the United States'
  • 'There's only one known recording of the song, and it's on an early silver bootleg called "Songs for Manitu"'
  • 'This live song had several different versions of it.'

Also there are weasel words:

  • 'Many consider it to be the best and most refined example of the unique Jamiroquai sound.'

Some NPOV:

  • 'This album... remains a classic in the United Kingdom and elsewhere.'

2Pac sampling "Manifest Destiny"

  • I'm not 100% sure if it was 2Pac, but I heard that he sampled "Manifest Destiny" for a song. Anyone know anything about that? JuJube 05:49, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:The Return of the Space Cowboy.jpg

Image:The Return of the Space Cowboy.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Comments

  • "Its lyrics also addressed..." I don't think "also" is needed.
  • "from their first album" -> "from Jamiroquai's first album"
  • "in the UK" link for chart?
  • "certified" link.
  • "tale…" ellipsis should be non-breaking space followed by "..." Check others.
  • "The album recording took place in the" -> The album was recored at..."
  • "The latin-tinged" Latin
  • "sixth track "The Kids" is an "aggressive" track" track .. track repetitive.
  • "track Van Gelder played drums on" -> "track on which Van Gelder played drums"
  • "It was also released under" is that a re-release?
  • "the UK chart" name of chart and link?
  • "was certified Platinum" link certified, no need to capitalise Platinum.
  • You use "ranked" four times in four sentences, needs mixing up a little.
  • Gold doesn't need capitalising.
  • "and Johnny Guitar Watson" "Guitar" normally in quotes.
  • turntables and design need en-dash, not hyphen.
  • "Summaries" row moves and is thus useless.
  • Check refs for spaced hyphens, they should be en-dashes.
  • No SHOUTING in ref titles.

That's all I have for now. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 10:27, 4 September 2021 (UTC)

Should have the addressed all these issues. 웃OO 21:55, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
