Billy (Amato) Smith

edit

Billy (Amato) Smith was the founder manager at the formation of the group then called "Them". The name "The Rascals" came about after meeting TV personality Soupy Sales though Billy (Amato) Smith. Soupy Sales hired the group as his back-up band on his college tours early 1965 just before playing the summer of 1965 at The Barge, a disco club on Dune Road in Westhampton, Long Island, New York — all under the direction of Billy (Amato) Smith. Smith introduced manager Sid Bernstein to the Rascals along with longtime friend of Sid Bernstein, Walter Hyman at The Barge. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.65.134.176 (talk) 03:07, 2 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

You keep adding this, but it's going to keep getting removed until you provide pointers to some mainstream published books or some mainstream newspaper articles that support your claims. Wasted Time R (talk) 04:54, 2 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

The Barge is not in New Jersey. Long Island is correctly referenced but it is in New York. They were the house band there in the wonderful summer of 1965. It was almost impossible to get in and unless you were with girls, forget it.
