Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on The Price of Salt. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).

N An editor has determined that the edit contains an error somewhere. Please follow the instructions below and mark the |checked= to true

  • If you have discovered URLs which were erroneously considered dead by the bot, you can report them with this tool.
  • If you found an error with any archives or the URLs themselves, you can fix them with this tool.

User:Cyberbot II does not look at the contents of an archive before adding archive URL. The only existing "archive" returns a "404 ERROR (We couldn't find the page you're looking for.)" The work was not archived properly. There is no usable archive. Pyxis Solitary (talk) 00:53, 23 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Norton edition acknowledgment error edit

The W.W. Norton & Company edition of The Price of Salt (now includes "or Carol" in title) states:

First published in the USA by The Naiad Press, Tallahassee, FL, in 1952
Revised edition with an Afterword by the Author, 1984
© 1984 by Claire Morgan
© 1991 by Patricia Highsmith

The novel was first published in the USA in 1952 by Coward-McCann. The Afterword by Highsmith was written in 1989 for publication in the 1990 Bloomsbury republication. (You would think that someone at Norton would have realized the error by now.) Pyxis Solitary (talk) 00:55, 4 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
