Colors Grey? edit
Why was this in the Infobox? The Plain was never an official party or club or subset of either. It lacked a coherent ideology. Political Syncretism page lists no color. No citation showing they were represented by a color is listed; no color listed on the French mirror page (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaine_(R%C3%A9volution_fran%C3%A7aise)). As well, The Plain cannot be classified as syncretic. It had no ideology. Quoting the relevant wikipages: "Syncretism is the combining of different beliefs, while blending practices of various schools of thought." "The main idea of syncretic politics is that taking political positions of neutrality by combining elements associated with the left and right can achieve a goal of reconciliation." The Plain is repeatedly described by historians as an amorphous group. The impression is they sided with whichever was the more popular side of the day and were prone to whomever gave a convincing oratory. Self-preservation became a key goal and they were known for their silence with Montagnard Duhem in 1794 observing with surprise and dismay that the toads of the Marais (Plain) had finally found their voice in the Convention. Political group edit
Removing the label of the Plain as a political group. As the wikipage for this states, "A political faction is a group of individuals within a political party that share a common political purpose." Sources like Schama, Bernard etc. do not support the notion they had any common purpose, philosophy or ideology.Skingski (talk) 20:09, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
