THE Octagon?

That's not right... the street signs expressly say 'Octagon' only - there is no 'The'

It's always known as "The Octagon", and Dunedin's street signs are notoriously unreliable - I've noiced more than a handful of mis-spellings before now. Though the street itself is circular, the edges of the properties abutting it do form an Octagon, so the whole space is octagonal, even if the road itself isn't. This photo might make the name seem more understandable! Grutness...wha? 07:19, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
