The Nature Conservancy sells out to Big Wind by claiming siting is the key

I don't see how TNC can do the math of future wind energy sprawl and claim it won't (continue to) radically alter scenery, and can miraculously skirt flyways with countless permutations. This includes insects on top of bird & bat deaths. Blade edges are also being eroded by debris, including bugs.
Their Site Wind Right campaign mostly focuses on saving wildlife but scenery is a huge component of the damage, including red lights tainting night skies when the blades aren't seen. Wind power is disrespecting nature on many levels. The size of some projects is mind-boggling, e.g. Chokecherry and Sierra Madre in Wyoming (earthy-sounding names mask the blatant sprawl).
I'm guessing TNC gets funding from wind turbine manufacturers, and had to pick a feel-good narrative. They ought to eat any funding, drop the "clean wind" ruse and emphasize nuclear as a sprawl-stopper.
