Focus

edit

The focus of this article isn't very clear. Is it about the novel The Magic Goes Away? Or about the theme "magic as a nonrenewable resource"? IMHO it should focus on the novel, with the other stories cited as background. We might have another article about the fictional universe and themes.

Re characters, I'm fairly sure Aran from "Glass Dagger" appears nowhere in the novel. Does anyone have the name of the wizard who went to Australia? He isn't mentioned, and should be.

The goo has a nucleus, so it isn't a bacterium (which is prokaryotic). An amoeba, I think.

For the record, I originally created this article with the intention of it being broadly about the Magic Goes Away series, not the specific novel, just because I felt it made more sense to have a single article containing all relevant information than making multiple articles about a subject of such narrow interest. Doesn't really matter to me, though I think some of the recent changes seem to have made the article less cohesive. 68.144.93.16 (talk) 10:23, 19 March 2008 (UTC)ChrisReply

I don't agree about the list not being helpful. It has helped me expand my research, and provides an excellent starting point for referenced material. I believe that at the very least the list should be linked to, if not included in, the article. 97.96.68.40 (talk) 03:30, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Misssing Books?

edit

Two books are listed at the bottom of the page, and also on the main Niven bibliography page. They are: More Magic (1984) The Time of the Warlock (1984

Why are they not listed in this article? Johncolton (talk) 18:06, 6 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
