The Big Kerplop

From an original copy of The Big Kerplop, printed by McRae Smith Company in 1974, ISBN 0-8255-1834-2 — The title on the jacket is rendered thus: The BIG KERPLOP   An Adventure of the Mad Scientists' Club; and on the title page thus: The BIG KERPLOP   A Mad Scientists' Club Adventure. The Library of Congress title on the reverse of the title page is: The big kerplop; a Mad Scientists' Club adventure., which is consistent with the book's title page. In any case, there's no exclamation point in the title, nor mention of "original adventure". I think the title in the Wikipedia article should follow the Library of Congress pattern. Oops! I just found Sheridan Brinley's discussion at the Mad Scientists' Club Official Web Site, where he stated that the title was originally supposed to have an exclamation mark in it. I'm leaving the change in the list at the top of the article, though, because that's how it was originally published by MacRae Smith; see additional comment below list on TBK! and its chronological place in the stories. Charlie's Name

I have a vague memory of the narrator being referred to as "Charlie Brown" by one of the constabulary in one of the short stories.
