Plot summary edit

Okay, I don't get it, at the top we're saying the plot summary is TOO LONG, then in the plot summary we're saying it's TOO SHORT. We can't have it both ways ppl.--Caleballen (talk) 05:40, 2 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

notability edit

I don't see why the notability is in question. This is a published series of books, with enough popularity that the author keeps writing more and the publisher keeps printing them. I'd love for someone to take the time to provide a list of characters, ship names, and ship classes; but the fact that there's work to be done doesn't invalidate the work that's been begun. Is there some magical, minimum number of copies of a book series that need to be sold for it to be "notable"?Cjoshuav (talk) 18:14, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not to beat an old drum, but a full write up on this series, or, maybe, "Gearyverse," is not really called for here. The scope of the lost fleet is still limited, and there's very little backstory for the main characters. Everything is contained within the Alliance Fleet, so while in, say, the Honor Harrington series we have a large, sweeping space opera, done entirely in Conference rooms, here we have a space opera that is too detached from the "universe at large" for backstories, ethnicity, class, etc to come into play.--Caleballen (talk) 08:49, 2 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Old Earth edit

What page in Valiant is this information about Earth located? I don't remember any info about a gate or pilgrims? Zombie Hunter Smurf (talk) 13:19, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's not, it is mentioned in "Relentless", not "Valiant". --CoRrRan (talk) 19:31, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Not sure why the editor who added that section said it was in Valiant, he even cited the book as well. Zombie Hunter Smurf (talk) 23:24, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Major Themes or Inspiration edit

Should the first paragraph and quote be separated out into a new section on "inspiration," rather than in a discussion of the thematic elements of the series? Xenophon's tale surely informed the story of the series, but does it have any relevance to the themes that Hemry puts forth? Lack of criticism edit

This reads like a meeting of the Lost Fleet Fan Club. What is the style like? Are the plots credible? Are the characters human or cardboard cut-outs? Diomedea Exulans (talk) 17:25, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Aside from a list of ISBN/OCLC numbers to help a reader learn more and brief plot descriptions to help differentiate this series from other military sci-fi, I believe much of the article should be reduced in length. Baltakatei 20:24, 3 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

outdated tense edit

Much of this article states things that "will be" - when in fact all of the books up to "Tarnished Knight" have been released. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.117.176.190 (talk) 14:29, 4 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
