I may have to redo the cover. It's too big.Sposato (talk) 02:23, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's fine -- if you leave the 'size' field blank it will normally size it automatically. The JPStalk to me 09:10, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Since Allmusic have changed the syntax of their URLs, 1 link(s) used in the article do not work anymore and can't be migrated automatically. Please use the search option on http://www.allmusic.com to find the new location of the linked Allmusic article(s) and fix the link(s) accordingly, prefereably by using the {{Allmusic}} template. If a new location cannot be found, the link(s) should be removed. This applies to the following external links:

"Declan Galbraith also did a fantastic cover in 2009"

... does this break the rules? --Matt Westwood 07:23, 12 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Not the "rules", per se, but you are spot on that it's not very encyclopedic-sounding. I'll fix it immediately. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 01:57, 13 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Rolf Harris reference

edit

Can I get some opinions on how this sentence is referenced: "The song, which addresses a son's regret over unresolved conflict with his now-deceased father,[1] moved veteran entertainer Rolf Harris to tears, live on UK breakfast television in December 1988.[2]"

The first reference is a source that describes the song theme. The second reference, as I understand, should source the claim that the song "moved veteran entertainer Rolf Harris to tears, live on UK breakfast television in December 1988." I can't see how linking to TV-am within the reference achieves that objective. Not only does the source fail to support the claim, the use of TV-am doesn't seem to meet WP:CIRCULAR . Flat Out Let's discuss it 12:02, 23 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

I agree. We can't use a Wikipedia article about a TV show as a reference for something that happened on that show. A newspaper article about the incident would be acceptable. I am not even sure that shedding of tears deserves mention, unless it received great attention. People tear up when they hear sad songs all the time. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:08, 23 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
I added a reference to an article in The Age that mentions the incident, which was the best source I could find. The incidents is mentioned on blogs and forums, seems to be mentioned in a couple of books hidden behind paywalls. The issue is whether the incident is a big enough part of the history of the song to be mentioned. I have no opinion on that. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 00:51, 24 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
If it were widely commented on at the time, then I think it would merit a mention - Harris was after all extremely famous in the late 1980s. I don't think it was widely commented on though, so it's probably as well to leave it out unless some further evidence emerges. The fact that Harris is now in disgrace isn't a direct consideration, but in my humble and subjective opinion, if an article about a very pure and much-loved song is spared the inclusion of a mention of Rolf Harris for any reason, that's perhaps a desirable outcome.Shiresman (talk) 01:15, 8 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

The Living Years (song)The Living Years – First, the extra disambiguation is unnecessary. Second, the whole title already distinguishes the song from the album, Living Years. Third, the song gets more views than the album, according to stats. George Ho (talk) 08:07, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
