Notability
editI have already named some reason for the notability of this movie. Let me add some more.
The producer Sean David Loewe as well as one of the stars (David Kurzhal) gained notority and influence as YouTubers. They interviewed the actors who they then worked with eventually. That is a new way to start a career and marks perhaps a new era.
Secondly this movie is a cooperation between two different generations: "Digital natives" on one hand and movie stars who once became famous due to the begin of the VHS era.
Also, no matter how trashy or even campy the movie might be: It is perhaps the last time a big audience can see those matured stars of yesterday on the silverscreen... For Billy Blanks and Matthias Hues and others this is probably what The Shootist was for the late John Wayne. The legendary John also was just a B-movie star for the best part of his life.
This film is moreover a hidden warning for those who believe that following kickboxers to Eastern Europe and to have yourself talked into fighting there might make you a "winner". It might instead lead you right into the arms of somebody who has been accused of human trafficking. Maybe you missed that because you were distracted by Matthias Hues's famous blond hair when he played the promoter. Don't be.
