Piano versions edit
The 'Recordings' section doesn't mention any - much less any critics' choices - for violin and piano. Does anyone have sources? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 22:45, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
Keys and modes edit
The analysis says rather confidently that the violin theme is in G major, but to me it sounds as though it could just as well be in E minor (Aeolian). Myopic Bookworm (talk) 17:49, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- I'm responsible for that wording. I based my description of the piece on the analyses by Howes and Kennedy, but I cannot pretend to any grasp on my own account of modes/keys, and if you are sure the printed score bears the interpretation you put on it, I for one will not demur if you add a few words to that effect. - I have preferred, rather, to remove the explicit identification of the key. The later discussion says that the key of the piece is ambiguous, and that it has been analysed in terms of Dorian and Aeolian modes, but to add my own theory would seem inappropriate as "original research". Vocal version with lyrics edit
To add to article: an English choir has just performed an arrangement that integrates vocals (singing Meredith's poem). link 173.88.246.138 (talk) 21:02, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
