Talk:The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle

Is this page necessary? edit

I have to wonder whether this organization is notable enough to warrant its own article. The text is almost exactly copied from July 2006 Seattle Jewish Federation shooting, and it doesn't seem that any material that someone might add would be notable. A complete article on this organization might say that it raises $X million a year and supports a wide variety of organizations and social service programs. Is that encyclopedic? There are 155 Jewish Federation's in the United States, should all of them be in wikipedia? GabrielF 14:08, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Except this one was the site of a notable crime, and hence becme notable itself. I have read the deletion policy and cannot find even by a strech a remotedly appropiate reason to delete this page. Why is this delete needed. As to a lack of information, there is a stub template, which is meant to get it full of information. I also suggested in the article talk pagew what this content should be. I find it strange that rather than wanting to add information you want it deleted, even if logical and not having any real reason to be deleted.--Cerejota 06:42, 15 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Still a stub? edit

This article is still a stub?
So, even though it survived an afd (which presumably implied that some editors had an interest in turning it into an actual article), it still has no content to justify maintaining it as a separate article?
What notable/significant information is in this article that isn't in the article for the shooting? Bladestorm 04:10, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

You could be WP:BOLD and redirect it to that article. I'd have no objection. Or you could bring it up for WP:AfD again. Or both (redirect it, and bring it up for WP:RfD). — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 15:42, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Be sure to clean up links if you redirect, to avoid double redirects (which don't work properly). — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 15:45, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Honestly, I, um, kinda don't know how to do redirects. Bladestorm 15:48, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Please see Wikipedia:Redirect. I mean, the article has been that way for over 5 months, a few more days can't hurt. If you like, I can go over your edits later to see if you did it correctly. — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 15:55, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
