Not primarily a novel

"The Glorious Cause" is not primarily the title of a Jeff Shaara novel. The principal reference should plainly be to the one-volume history of the American Revolution by Robert Middlekauf, published in 1982 as the inaugural volume of the Oxford History of the United States. That Shaara helped himself to the title is worth noting, if we can get over the rah-rah press release text.
