Proposal to change the title of this article

The actual title of the painting by Jacques-Louis David is "The Funeral of Patroclus." I edited the text to reflect the description provided on the website of National Gallery of Ireland where the painting hangs. (Note this link does not use https but http and is not a secure site.) The website clearly states the title of the painting is "The Funeral of Patroclus."

Homer's Iliad describes the funeral of Patroclus. The contests sponsored by Achilles were held after Patroclus' pyre had burned out and his bones were interred. The painting shows Patroclus on his pyre, before it is set alight, being attended to by Achilles with the corpse of Hector on the right and the corpses of the 12 Trojan male captives who were sacrificed by Achilles. None of the contests described by Homer, such as a chariot race, a foot race and a wrestling competition, are shown in this painting.

The current title is incorrect and therefore should be changed to reflect the correct title of the art work it describes.

Why has no one paid any attention to this request to change the INCORRECT title of this article? I have donated generously to Wikipedia for years. This is the first time I have tried to go through your convoluted process to change a title and presented clear evidence that the current title is incorrect. Until some action is taken, I will cease all donations to Wikipedia. There are other worthwhile organizations that I will support instead. 70.95.140.193 (talk) 14:19, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
