This group and article is notable because it serves to educate the public about Alberta's social, cultural, political, and domestic history, and provides educational experiences related to this history to the public. It cites the book "A Gentleman of Strathcona: Alexander Cameron Rutherford" by D.R. Babcock, published by the University of Calgary Press, 1989, as well as being published in The Edmonton JournalAshmead 20:45, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

The notability issue is whether the Society is notable, not the house or its former resident. Also, users are 'very strongly' discouraged per Wikipedia policy from posting articles about subjects to which they are related. --Butseriouslyfolks 22:23, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Next thing we'll have Friends of Fort Edmonton, Friends of the Ukrainian Village. Just doesn't make sense. The museums are notable, their "friends" (while doing a good thing) are not encycolpedic (sp?). Kevlar67 10:22, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
