Why in the world does a search for "The Forbidden City" bring me to an obscure early 20th Century film? What percentage of people are looking for this film and how many want information on the Chinese Palace complex? Would somebody with the relevant know-how please fix this?

American actor Charles Fang, noted in the cast listing of the film in the article, is not currently listed in the IMBD as being in the cast, but is credited at the 33:24 point into the film (the version in Commons). The Forbidden City → The Forbidden City (film) – "The Forbidden City" should be a redirect to Forbidden City. The pageviews show a 120:1 ratio of views between the two articles. WikiNav shows almost half of all outgoing clicks goes to Forbidden City. Per WP:SMALLDETAILS: And a well-known concept may still be the primary topic for a variant or incorrect spelling, even if a much less well-known subject uses that spelling

- Surely the one in Beijing is the clear primary topic? It's by far the most notable Forbidden City, which is why it's the primary topic for Forbidden City, and is very often referred to with a capitalised definite article. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:19, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not sure but I'd expect someone intentionally searching with "The" might well be looking for the film. See Battle of Maldon/The Battle of Maldon for example. Sometimes like the Isle of Wight its obvious "The" isn't part of the name, sometimes like The Solent its less obvious either way and sometimes like The Needles its obvious its part of the name. - Note - around 136 direct links will need to be correctly pointed to the film if this is moved. From skimming, it appears they mostly refer to the film, but a few may not. (edit: scratch that. It may just be the nav template, probably not that many links, but worth a check to be sure. ASUKITE 16:43, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
