4th film

Are there any Exorcist 4 or Exorcist IV plans stated? This was joked about 57m into Time After Time (1979 film) though at the time Exorcist II had been released in 77. Perhaps while they were producing it they had assumed after hearing it would get one sequel it would get a total of 3 in short order due to popularity?

Exorcist: The Series I guess is like a sequel though I'm not sure if it would be to Exorcist II or Exorcist III since apparently 3 ignores 2 somehow? 184.145.18.191 (talk) 00:25, 9 August 2019 (UTC)

Merging 2nd Exorcist article with this one

I recently took to Talk:The Exorcist article to propose a merge with this article as there is no need for two separate articles detailing the same franchise. This current article was created first, and therefor the additional article should not have been made. Instead, this article should have been expanding into a franchise status to include the stage play(s) and the television series. Is there anyone opposed to this, and if so - why?--DisneyMetalhead (talk) 19:32, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

I'm in agreement, I came to this talk page because I was confused why there's one page for the media franchise and another for the film/TV franchise, it seems arbitrary. I'm guessing this page was originally made for the film series, and then expanded to "franchise" as time went on, not taking into account the other franchise page. I would say just merge them. @Anthony Appleyard: It looks like you moved The Exorcist (film series) to The Exorcist (franchise) last year. The Exorcist (no disambiguation term) already existed as a franchise article. Currently, there is an RM discussion to make The Exorcist (film) the primary topic and to move the old primary topic from "The Exorcist" to "The Exorcist (franchise)" which already exists. I think it would be better to move this article back to The Exorcist (film series), and depending on how the RM discussion goes, to have a new discussion about merging articles.
