"...the stylistic change from what many have dubbed the "D.C." or "Dischord sound". In precisely what way is the sound of the Evns different from Fugazi? (I haven't heard em.) Please be descriptive.

The one who has written this article gave an external link that explains what you want to know: <<It's rock, but with the reins held tight. There are no screaming choruses or ear-splitting guitars. If such a style exists, the Evens sound like what happens when post-hardcore becomes post-post-hardcore.>> I heard The Evens and Fugazi and well it's really different...Fugazi's just post-hardcore, you can hear screaming choruses and ear-spitting guitars but less than Minor Threat where Ian McKaye scream all the time...Minor Threat had a short and fast sound and Fugazi has more long melodic tones, but it keeps an energic sound, a tension... What I mean is Minor Threat had always fast full energic sound when Fugazi's songs include noticeable and abrupt transitions from loud to quiet...(and in a few songs only, it's soft and quiet all the way) Moreover, Fugazi sound punk and hardcore but there is more...you can hear influences like dumb, art-rock, etc. So Fugazi is softer than Minor Threat... but The Evens...this group is REALLY soft, and so quiet!! It's melodic all the time ...and the music in this group is really "simple"...what I mean is there is just 2 voices (MacKaye & Farina) and 2 intruments like it was written in the link: <<These new songs are bare-bones and intimate: MacKaye on electric baritone guitar and Farina on drums. No other instruments>>...So it's why it's an unusual sound...and so different... I don't play music and in addition, I have a basic english, so I can't explain in other words...sorry...If you want to know more about post-hardcore you just have to read it on wiki...So now, it's your turn to do the job...
