Something to note, the word DECIMATE on the topic page should be changed. To decimate is to destroy one in every ten of an item. So to be precise, unless 9/10th of the city is still standing, it isn't decimated, it is devastated or destroyed.

- Of course that's as false and stupid as it sounds. "Decimate" has the common meaning of destroy a large part of so if you were to follow out on ignorant conjectural etymologies like that, the logical thing would be to think it meant to reduce to a tenth, destroy 90%. If fact neither is supported and instead there's a real latin derivation that isn't about arithmetic dimunition, at all at all. 72.228.189.184 (talk) 01:18, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
