The story from the insiders was that Roach and Hansen delivered an ultimatum at contract renewal...either they received a salary increase or they would take what was essentially a standing offer in Miami. Management wished them well and told them not to let the door hit them on the way out. While well suited in humor and approach for the Pittsburgh market, the pair did not fare well in Miami and returned to mornings on WMYG opposite the Paulsen and Krenn show on WDVE. They never regained their momentum, largely because of the strength of the DVE image, the talent of Paulsen and Krenn, and the perception that they abandoned their audience...which, if the above story is accurate, they did.
