Talk:The Dø

Notability edit

I don't know why the notability template is put on this article, it's clear that it needs references and other things to expand it, but The Dø is clearly not a "not notable" band, it's a recent band that gets successful at least in its countries and oh, you might just understand what I mean. No way "The Dø" is an article to delete, yes way it's a stub.

The name edit

There is no language as Scandinavian, and although "dø" means "die" in both Danish and Norwegian, it is not the case in for example Swedish, Icelandic or Faroese. I have corrected that sentence. Apart from that obvious error, I question what relevance speculations about the origins of the name have. Until we have an example of a band member explaining the name, I think we should leave the speculations out of our encyclopedia. Vigfus (talk) 22:12, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

It is also a reference to the Japanese Zen word Do, which in turn is a translation of the Chinese 'Tao'. The band even mention this very briefly in a television interview. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.102.67.7 (talk) 17:29, 9 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Can we talk about how [dø] is the IPA for the French word "deux", and how this band is a French-Finnish duo? It seems obvious. Edwin Okli (talk) 17:38, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Broken link edit

I do not know how to use this talk page or correctly edit anything on Wikipedia, but I would just like to point at the broken external link on the page, "The Dø 'On My Shoulders' Single Review" which leads to some porn page. All the best. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.198.8.211 (talk) 11:16, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
