"Soon after "He Hit Me" flopped, Phil Spector began recording singer Darlene Love and her backing group The Blossoms but under the name "The Crystals" who sometimes had difficulty hitting the same notes during live performances according to the documentary 20 Feet from Stardom." I don't remember that part of the documentary. the only thing in subtitles relevant to the song is this:

"The Crystals were out on the road with Gene Pitney, and the record was climbing the charts, going to number one and they had never heard the song before." Najodleglejszy (talk) 15:12, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

The Rolling Stone "greatest of all time" lists should really be ignored. There's nothing authoritative about them, as corroborated by the fact that (here) songs get dropped and then re-appear a short time later. I understand that it's useful to learn about the enduring success or popularity of a song, but there must be a source that isn't so fickle. Kanderso (talk) 18:49, 8 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
