In 1974, when this film came out, there were not many online critics and since then it does not seem to have attracted much critical notice. This does not mean that the film is unworthy of attention, just as the apparent absence of awards is no proof that it lacks merit. When one considers the juvenile talent-free dross on American cinema and TV which attracts reverential wikipedia coverage, there is no comparison with this adult and aesthetic European picture.

As the work of a director considered notable in four wikipedias (one being English) and the dramatisation of a book by a novelist considered notable in two (one being English), in my view the film is definitely worth an article and I would strongly oppose deletion.
