Talk:The Citizens' Commission on 9-11

Latest comment: 18 years ago by Splash in topic Articles for Deletion debate

From the article:

The commision was modeled after United States Congress hearing, like the hearings conducted by the 9/11 Commission.

So the model was that a bunch of people sat behind a desk asking questions, and other people answering the questions sat on the other side of the desk? Is the congress reference anything else than an attempt to give this article an air of fake legitimacy? If I and my friends model a meeting after a congressional hearing like that will we get a Wikipedia article too? Is there anything to this except pure notability faking? Hey, the notability is not the way they sat around the desk, the notability was a congresswoman rejecting the official view, a movie world premier, media coverage and audience, being taken so seriously by those having that view that they filmed it AND put it for full download on the web, that people among the top of the 9/11 truth movement was there, that they belived that meating to be historic. That is why it is notble.--Striver 12:03, 26 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

No congresswoman was present in the meeting. Being a congressperson is not a lifelong title. When a person is not a member of congress he is not a congressperson. "Filmed it" = camcoder, available at your local shopping mall. "Truth movement" = a bunch of conspiracy theorists. "They believed the meeting to be historic" = what a bunch of conspiracy theorists personally believe does not increase their notability.
All that aside, the point (if we can please try to keep to it) was: is the congress reference pretty much just an attempt to give the article a fake air of legitimacy? Weregerbil 12:31, 26 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Again, i tell you that is not the case. The notability of this article does not lie in its format. The article reports that only because that is what happened, that is not the cirtical notability, saying so would be ridiculous.

About Cynthia, read this:

21-Jul-04
Cynthia McKinney
Miami Herald reports, "Former congresswoman Cynthia McKinney danced to hip-hop music and shouted 'I'm back!' after surprising many by winning the primary outright in her old congressional district. The state's first black congresswoman, McKinney served 10 years in the House before losing the seat two years ago. [1]

That was 2-3 month before this commision.

"'Filmed it' = camcoder, available at your local shopping mall" its false. It means people wantet to keep it documented, and they did that.

"They believed the meeting to be historic" means that the meating was notable AMONG the groupe. And that is all that is needed to establish notability.

"'Truth movement' = a bunch of conspiracy theorists.", So? That does not mean they are any less notable than any religion or the UFO movement. This event was notable among them, and that is enough to show notability, even if they didnt have Cynthia among them, and even if Media was not present, and even if they did not have the wordl premier of a movie there.
