Notability (Schools) is redirected to a Wikipedia page that is currently inactive and is retained primarily for historical interest. This article is already more detailed than many other articles on schools in Britain, but it could well still be considered a stub. I have therefore recategorized it as such and removed the 'merge' and 'notability' tags.

The school does not have specialist status as a sports college. I've removed the sentence that said it did. It currently does not have specialist status. A bid for "humanities" specialist status (with focus on english) is currently being prepared. Dr Champion (an employee of the school!) JimChampion 18:55, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for removing that sentence - I don't why the article stated that, it originally also said the article had English College status which I already removed as there is no such thing. Camaron1 | Chris 20:08, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
At one time the school was going to apply to be a sports college, but it didn't happen. I'm not going to do much with this article (possible conflict of interest) but I will correct factual mistakes and remove vandalism by (tiresome) pupils. JimChampion 22:35, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Dr Champion, I was just thinking that in the good natured equality that is wikipedia, the article should contain some of the criticisms which have been made in the past. As I recall the school was told it "spoon-fed" the pupils too much. --Guitarjunkie66 22:16, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hello; feel free to add criticisms of the school to the article if you can give sources. See WP:CITE. Camaron1 | Chris 17:00, 19 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hello. I think you are right - it was in a previous ofsted report. I have not edited your comments - have a look back through the article history! If you think you have been unfairly treated then put it back in. That is the joy of wikipedia. (Obviously the sorry side is the amount of vandalism that a school/college site attracts from the less mature - see the anonymous edits in the article history for more) JimChampion (talk) 10:56, 19 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Just to add to the above. The 2007 ofsted report said "In response to recommendations at the time of the last inspection, a staged strategy is in place to encourage pupils to take more responsibility for their own learning. Although this approach is already having an effect, the principle is not yet sufficiently embedded into teaching." JimChampion (talk) 10:59, 19 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ofsted inspections edit

The remark "the teachers were only given 2 days notice to prepare them selves for the inspection and did spectacularly well." is not sourced and subjective/original research (i.e. not suitable for wikipedia). I have replaced it with a statement of the school and college's inspection grades from the most recent (2007) inspection report.JimChampion (talk) 10:56, 19 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
