The claimed scrapping of the bus
editWe're really using one article as the proof for the scrapping of the bus? Sure, it says "claimed" but can we also say that it's uncited? Wolven1 —Preceding undated comment added 04:18, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:The Big Bus.jpg
editImage:The Big Bus.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:43, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
What... it's being used in the article for educational purposes. It's a single frame, likely even from the trailer. Wolven1
Building the Big Bus - original article
editThere's an article on the building of the Big Bus[1]. It was really two International cab-over trucks, driven to locations separately and then coupled for shots. It wasn't a functional articulated vehicle. When in motion, the front and back sections were driven by separate drivers, very carefully. --John Nagle (talk) 06:57, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- Ah that makes sense because at the end of the movie the bus splits in two and both halves continue driving. 203.97.255.148 (talk) 10:53, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
Location, Location, Location
editClearly, all the filming was done in the Los Angeles area, despite the storyline repeatedly stating it was between NYC and Denver. But: does anybody know where the final cliffhanger (literally) was filmed? Somewhere dramatic above a lake and a dam. Would like to know which. I suspect it might be Matilija Lake. Dave (talk) 23:42, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
- I am nearly sure the cliffhanger was shot at the hollywood reservoir peninsula. When checking take into account that the trees must have been smaller this time. And it would be logic; shooting close to the hollywood stages saves money !
Casting/Original Research
editI almost removed the lack of citation warning in the casting subsection. It seemed obvious that the source was an inline source--John Landis' audio commentary in The Blues Brothers movie. However, I realized the problem is with the subsequent sentence that says he played no previous lounge singer. That conclusion is not sourced and a quick glance at IMDB proves that it is hard to conclude that one of his previous roles might not be that of a lounge singer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.4.244.189 (talk) 15:39, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
Trailways Credited at end
editThe exact message is: Paramount Pictures thanks Trailways for their help and technical assistance in making this impossible picture possible.
(It in no way thanks Trailways “for their help in creating the bus used in the film”.)
Murph
editJust wanted to point out Murphy Dunne played a similar role as pianist and lounge singer in High Anxiety, also prior to the Blues Brothers. Postdarwin (talk) 06:32, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
