Roxy edit

Despite being mentioned in all the original press material for the series, I can't find any information on this character, not even so much as a screencap. Even the official site has absolutely nothing of use.

Can anyone provide any more information? Or at least an image of what the character looks like?--Tenka Muteki 04:22, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good idea, we need photos of all the characters in the article, as well. UncleMontezuma 10:23, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Roxy is an Arctic fox who looks very white and very lady-like. She pronounces Basil with emphasis on the 'il'. Photos of the characters would be very nice if there are some free ones out there, because fair-use is usually not permitted for living people. But does this also apply to foxes? She did a couple of episodes in series 5 and then died a death! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.70.95.82 (talk) 15:16:19, August 19, 2007 (UTC)

India edit

The actress India Beau is on the show credited as playing the character India. In the article the character also has the surname Beau. Has this surname ever been mentioned in the show? Gidi70 04:51, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, I've never understood why she is called the same name as the actress. I think Basil's story about her could be partly true...

Ok, so I changed the names around. In fact, the name she goes by nowadays is apparently India de Beaufort, so I added that with the imdb as the source. Gidi70 01:59, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
The irony... Shortly after I made the change, the Popwar episode was repeated on BBC3, in which India is actually referred to as India Beau, not only once, but twice... So I changed the text again. Gidi70 17:48, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Series seven edit

On the main BBS page: 'The show has recently finished its sixth series and will not be going again due to the high amount of money needed for the production.[citation needed] Instead, CBBC and the production company The Foundation are concentrating on Basil's Swap Shop which requires less money.[citation needed]'

On the List of episodes page: 'Series seven is most likely to air in 2009 or 2010 due to money issues.'

Both seem to contradict each other and there are no citations to back-up... 80.4.6.146 (talk) 09:00, 25 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

As fas as I'm aware there never was any plans to do a seventh series, on the basis that Swap Shop is cheaper to make.
I find no creditable source that Series 7 of Basil Brush has even been commissioned by CBBC never mind actually gone into production.
On the other side of the coin, there's no credible source to say the show has definitely been dropped by CBBC, though the fact a series was made every year from 2002-2007 and there was no 2008 series is notable but doesn't actually prove anything. According to a January 2009 news release on the Entertainment Rights website[1] the fox spent most of 2008 on live tour.
On that basis, considering Entertainment Rights and RDF websites state 78 episodes, 6 series of 13 episodes, 6 x 13 = 78, until something changes from those sources (since the show's apparently been popular in other countries and if they do make new episodes they'll want to flog them to other broadcasters and change the figures accordingly), I see little point in having any mention of this apparently fictitious series 7. Well, another link to the fictional series 7 has appeared. Entertainment Rights have relaunched the website so the link in my post above doesn't work but this one does: [2] and states 78 episodes. Who keeps adding this apparent fabrication about a 7th series? NKTP (talk) 22:55, 27 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal edit

I don't see any evidence that the characters from this show are independently notable from the show itself; the article List of Basil Brush Show characters has no references. This article isn't so long, so it doesn't need to be split off for length reasons. As such, I recommend that that article be merged in here (and possibly be trimmed in the process, since none of it is verified). Qwyrxian (talk) 02:19, 30 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

2002 show started in 2000 edit

The official site says 2000: http://basilbrush.com/history/ -- Logosncompanies (talk) 20:32, 17 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

No, the graphic there indicates some time between 2000 and 2007. -- Dr Greg  talk  22:55, 16 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
