Arthur Mee's 'The King's England-Norfolk' (1940), in the entry for Islington, a village near King's Lynn, says that the song refers to that village, not the Islington near London.

The song is also referred to as True Love Requited, or The Bailiff's Daughter of Islington. There is a separate Wikipedia page under that title. 2.28.83.174 (talk) 09:39, 8 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
