"Sponsored by Purina Dog Chow" in no way belongs in the lead. I don't know why this seemingly innocuous article is locked, but that line violates WP:NOTADVERTISING. Every TV show has sponsors, lot of things have sponsors, but we don't advertise them in the lead of an article. -- 207.237.230.157 (talk) 00:56, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is not a television series, it is a musical, which do not generally have sponsorship from large corporations, and it is noted prominently on their site and in their own materials, so at least some mention in the lead seems fully appropriate. The line does not violate NOTADVERTISING in any way, shape, or form. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 01:04, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I agree AnmaFinotera, this sponsorship is an unusual situation, and I think noteworthy. Almost all musical theatre articles I've seen start with the creatives (that is, composer, etc) first, so I made that the first sentence, and moved the Purina/producer farther down but still in the lead.
