Thanos MCU main article?

I noticed that certain characters in the MCU (such as Iron Man and Thor) have articles dedicated entirely to the MCU iteration of the character. Considering a villain as inconsequential to the MCU as Trevor Slattery has his own page, shouldn't a figure as important to the world and culturally relevant as the MCU Thanos have his own page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delfino319 (talkcontribs) 22:54, 7 June 2019 (UTC)

I second this notion and also think Thanos needs an MCU page, also considering that MCU Thanos is very much a different character than comic book Thanos. --District9123 (talk) 16:51, 18 June 2019 (UTC)

No arguements here. @Delfino319 and District9123: Go ahead and start one up! -2pou (talk) 21:06, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
@Delfino319 and District9123: I just realized there's a draft here that you can contribute to: Draft:Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe) -2pou (talk) 17:12, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

Been working on the aforementioned draft of Thanos if anyone wants to help out. Could someone please put the image of Thanos from the film subsection as the image for this Thanos draft? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delfino319 (talkcontribs) 05:06, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

@Delfino319: @2pou: @District9123: The article "Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe) is now live. I assume that it will be on Articles for deletion soon, so keep an eye on it, and until then, try and clean it up as much as possible. -- Zanimum (talk) 23:01, 19 April 2020 (UTC)

Deadpool 2

Thanos was mentioned in Deadpool 2. I don't even understand why this has to be a discussion, because it was a clear as day. Someone mentioned that him being referenced is trivial. I ask you this, what makes it trivial, personal opinion? Yes...that's what it is, just picking and choosing what we want to put on here is not anything like writing an encyclopedia at all.

Deadpool 2 was a Marvel movie, that clearly referenced a character from other Marvel movies. It doesn't get much clearer than that. There are multiple comic book-related articles throughout Wikipedia that mention characters that are referenced. For example Joker is mentioned in various Arrowverse television shows, although he has yet to actually make an appearance and since he's apparently dead, he might not. Still, these accounts are mentioned here on Wikipedia, as they are just a valid as anything.

You're right that it was a clear reference. It's also trivial, because it was a joke that has no importance. If you think it is significant, you'll need to explain why. The person who wants to included information is responsible for justifying it. Argento Surfer (talk) 15:02, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
We might need to remove those trivial non-appearance mere mentions from the Joker page too, unless they have reliable sources which clearly assert their significance (hint: most trivial non-appearances have no such sources). 8.37.179.254 (talk) 15:20, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
I don't see any on the actual Joker page. I understood Noah to mean that references to the Joker are in articles about the episodes that refer to the Joker, which is probably fine? I'm not sure which episodes those would be... Argento Surfer (talk) 16:32, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
It's on Joker in other media or something like that. I was just giving one example. And the source is the actual shows themselves that mentioned him. We are talking about a Marvel character that was mentioned in a Marvel movie. It was a joke, yes, but a straight forward reference nonetheless. It's not like it's a real person. He was mentioned and that's plenty important enough. Here's the thing, in the song, "American Pie," Buddy Holly's name was never mentioned even once, but even the article here on Wikipedia mentions him. Because it's common knowledge his death was what is referred to by the lyrics "the day the music died." But Thanos being referenced in Deadpool 2 isn't soe lyric we are trying to interpret. The meaning was very clear. I mean even the Marvel Database has his name listed in the character section. Now if for some reason, you think the world doesn't deserve to know about it, the question I have is why, what's the big deal -- why the censorship? And as for the Joker from the Arrowverse, despite not appearing in any of the shows, he's been mentioned several times, and even that he was killed by Batman. Also he has important ties to the backstory of main characters from Batwoman.--Noah Tall (talk) 17:38, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
If you check the sources for the Joker in the Arrowverse, none of them are to an episode, they're to coverage of the shows by Screenrant. That's the kind of source the IP is talking about. That's not terribly important, though, because I'm sure you can find a source that explains the Thanos/Cable joke from Deadpool.
As for "censorship", it's being excluded because it's not important. It has no impact on anything. It's a joke reference to the actor. It's trivial. Other than being "true", why do you think it should be included? Argento Surfer (talk) 18:22, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
I don't see why every article has to impact anything. He's a Marvel character referenced in a Marvel movie. It being a joke is what is trivial. That doesn't make it any less important. Obviously we aren't gonna agree. The only thing about it that seems trivial to me is that you won't let me keep it there. Now if the reference to Thanos was from Kevin Smith in Comic Book Men or something like that, I could see why we wouldn't use it, because it's irrelevant to the topic...that show is set in the real world, these movies are not, they're part of the Marvel Multiverse. That's all I have to say really. I think it's relevant because it was a Marvel movie referencing a character from another Marvel movie.--Noah Tall (talk) 13:22, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

Change: Thanos was a much thinner character and Roy suggested beefing him up, so he's beefed up quite a bit from his original sketches ... and later on I liked beefing him up so much that he continued to grow in size.

My Edit Request: Thanos was a much thinner character and Roy suggested beefing him up, so he's beefed up quite a bit from his original sketches ... and later on I liked beefing him up so much that he continued to grow in size. In Marvel Comics, he is listed as 6 feet 8 inches tall, While Marvel states he is Head and Shoulders above the Average Human Height.
