CHAKRA SWAMI edit

Please include these lines:

"This Cakrasvamin is said to have been made in the time of Bharata as a memorial of wars connected with his name. In Inner Kashmir, about two or three days’ journey from the capital toward the mountains of Bolor, there is a wooden idol called Sarada, which is much venerated and frequented by pilgrims".

Thanesar vs old Kurukshetra city edit

Thanesar vs Kurukshetra in Kurukshetra district. The article Thanesar and Kurukshetra have been muddled by editors not aware of the existence of the other article. Fylindfotberserk, do you know the difference between the two? which is which? May be both the article need some disambiguation template on the top announcing about the other article. @Walrus Ji: Well, both were merged so in census we have this. But Kurukshetra as a separate entity exists. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:27, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Fylindfotberserk, Thank you. looking at the google map, the eastern half of the city is marked as Kurukshetra [1], while the western side is marked as Thanesar see [2]. I believe the article on Kurukshetra should appropriately distinguish this on the top as well as on Kurukshetra_(disambiguation). Similar clarification might be needed on Thanesar. What is your opinion on what to do with the Wiki articles?
And do you know what name is used for the Kurukshetra district headquarter? Walrus Ji (talk) 10:47, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
This map by gov, marks Kurukshetra as the district HQ. https://kurukshetra.gov.in/map-of-district/ Walrus Ji (talk) 11:10, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

This edit by IP [3] that was reverted partially [4] by User:Sidewindered added the line, (note: old Kurukshetra city also called Thanesar city) both are same but people use to get confused between Thanesar city and Kurukshetra that they are different but let me clear Thanesar city or Kurukshetra city is same Thanesar city means old Kurukshetra city. Fylindfotberserk Do you think we should restore The IP's edits in some form. They will need source. --Walrus Ji (talk) 11:07, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Walrus Ji: While the census search here → [5] only has Thanesar but Kurushshetra does exist. It is the district headquarters and have historical significance. I believe we can have a Hubli-Dharwad like arrangement (merging bith articles) or have a separate "Kurukhshetra-Thanesar" article. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:22, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ok, Fylindfotberserk I lack detailed knowledge about this naming confusion, for now I have cleaned up both articles of the confusing mess in the lead and added a disambiguation header. Please check them and let me know if you want any changes with the edits I recently made on these 2 articles. The suggestion have a Huli-Dharwad arrangement might need some more reliable sources as well as wider consensus. I am neutral to that proposal, since I lack the detailed knowledge. Over to you. @Walrus Ji: I agree that kind of a change would require wider consensus and in time we can strive for that. For now, what you did is absolutely fine. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:37, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Fylindfotberserk, Just added a mapframe in the article. It shows how closely associated these two cities are. Hope it will greatly help new readers who might be confused between them. Walrus Ji (talk) 15:09, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Walrus Ji: Nice job. I saw it in the Kurukshetra article too (which is watchlisted). - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:14, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
