Request for page protection

I requested page protection. In May 2022, User:Hiakkoba (talk) deleted cited material, even blanked the page], and was ultimately blocked on May 17, 2022. After this block, beginning on the same day, May 17, 2022, similar deletions of cited material have been made, Contributions/2600:8801:1A6:CF00:7529:98A:2DA:4B5E. Similiar deletions/revisions were made in July: Special:Contributions/2601:204:C901:80:98F7:B9:B607:6A97 and [[2]]. It appears these IP deletions will continue until this page is protected. That's not what the talk page history shows. It shows that the article has a long history of unsourced or poorly sourced content. Honorary resolution

I don't know if I can be bothered looking into this myself, but there's obviously something weird with a honorary resolution in 2015 for an organisation that formed in 2019. Either the resolution was for some other organisation or this one has a history for several years before they officially formed the nonprofit. Nil Einne (talk) 10:29, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

Clarified that 2019 is for the nonprofit incorporation. I missed all the hubbub of the last 24 hours. It can be challenging to find independent, verifiable, and objective information about unrecognized tribes, so while all the nonprofit information might appear banal; it’s valuable for being wp:npov. There’s a great deal of misinformation about what is state-recognition and who are state-recognized tribes, especially in Texas, but as the cited material supports: Texas currently has no state-recognized tribes. @Yuchitown, I think it is the admin's job to decide. On most cases, if nominator wishes to withdraw, they need to post it in AFD. Then an uninvolved admin do the needful. Since I withdrawn it, some one (admin) will close it, keeping the page. CSMention269 (talk) 02:02, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

For anyone interested, here was the previous iteration of this article, prior to overhaul. If anyone has more content from reliable secondary, published sources, please feel free to add. The goal is to focus this article on the Texas Band of Yaqui Indians organization itself, as opposed to its claims (which are easily accessible via the two links to its website), and to stick to reliable, secondary published material – basically, what is substantiated by outside sources.
