English Channel?

edit

I removed the following sentence from the article: "In 1999 the duo crossed the English Channel with their show, Utchan Nanchan no urinari!! (ウッチャンナンチャンのウリナリ!!) and the couple's popularity soared."

I'm sure the phrase "crossed the English Channel" has some metaphorical significance, but as an encyclopedia uses literal phrasing, it has no place here. In the literal sense, I don't even know if it's significant for things that cross from England to the European mainland, or from the mainland to England. In the metaphoric sense, it's not clear, was the Japanese TV show shown in England or France? Or was it mainland Asia? I can't even correct it, because I don't know what it's supposed to mean. So I removed it. Boneyard90 (talk) 23:12, 29 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
