Arrogant reversal of all my edits
editUser talk:Atsme has arrogantly reverted all my edits, and we have a poor quality article again.Theroadislong (talk) 19:29, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- OK I give up, this is such a poor quality article and seems destined to remain so. Theroadislong (talk) 19:50, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- Your combined efforts have improved the article. While not perfect, it is far better than when you started to help the original editor. David notMD (talk) 10:59, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
- All my edits were removed, there is still unreferenced content and original research. Theroadislong (talk) 12:08, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
- I don’t know what your problem is, but I have not “arrogantly reverted” anything, so you can cease and desist from casting aspersions. I’m the one who saved this article from deletion and have been working to improve it. Perhaps if you find yourself so emotionally involved, it is time for you to walk away from it. Also, leave the “under construction” tag in place, at least for one more week. I’ve been sidetracked with some RL issues and have tried to work on the article when my vision allows. You can certainly add well-sourced material and help improve the article, but don’t attack the work of others while doing so. Also keep in mind that OR is not permitted - the material must be supported by and sourced to a RS, and if you think it’s likely to be challenged, use inline citations. - Your edit here [1] removed 11 of my edits. I have no emotional involvement and it is you that is adding back content without inline citations. I am removing it from my watchlist. Theroadislong (talk) 16:54, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
Re Daily Mail
editRSN closed it as unreliable but with the following caveat: The Daily Mail may have been more reliable historically, and it could make sense to cite it as a primary source if it is the subject of discussion. These seem to be good points, but should come up very rarely. Editors are encouraged to discuss with each other and apply common sense in these cases.
I think it may work here for what family member said. I opened another RS/N discussion for this article to see if we can cite it to the daughter's recollection - may work the same as a self-published source. Atsme📞📧 16:39, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
Images available
editHello. Just want to keep the good folks working on this article informed that photos of Terence Hogan are available on Commons. They are still pending OTRS, but I'm in touch with Karen Hogan to get that done. Happy editing! Rehman 00:06, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, Rehman - I'm still collecting links to sources and organizing...the search has not been easy, but I think we'll be allowed to use a little of the daughter's published "memoirs" in the Daily Mail about her Dad. I went to WP:RX and they found the Guardian obit for me so I've cited some of that. Wish I had access to the old London papers - I'm sure there are articles that can be used that can be corroborated to what has been written about the investigation. It just dawned on me...we're here trying to verify Hogan was involved in these crimes when 1000 police officers and multiple investigations couldn't get it done. Well, the confessions/eulogies of his accomplices may be all we'll ever have to work with but at least that's something. Atsme📞📧 02:05, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- My pleasure. Good work on the article. Happy editing! :-) Rehman 05:01, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
