Navone and Darderi edit

I think those two (Mariano Navone and Luciano Darderi) have not met the Davis Cup requirements from the ITF having started the year outside the Top 100. Wait if they will get a special dispensation to allow on competing the Olympics. If Navone does not meet the requirements by ITF, Facundo Díaz Acosta will be the last eligible player from Argentina despite having won gold in 2023 Pan American Games to be part in the Continental Zone. 120.28.64.52 (talk) 12:12, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Navone and Darderi do not need 'special dispensation'; in both cases they have risen very quickly through the rankings playing for nations who are deep with ranked players. They easily fall under 7.2.2 b or c. Acosta on the other hand would not, he debuted on the ATP in 2020 and has not played in the Davis Cup. Both Navone and Darderi have been featured on the ITFs page previewing the Olympics, and Darderi has been publicly thanking his sponsors for helping him get to the Olympics. I would add that excluding Safiullin is just a wild guess as well since I don't know how you determine the criteria for whether players who haven't been able to play in Davis Cup since 2021 wanted to, or would have. So why is Kotov okay and Safiullin not?18abruce (talk) 20:31, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
