"The disc is composed of fibrocartilagenous tissue (like the firm and flexible elastic cartilage of the ear) which is positioned between the two bones that form the joint." Just wondering if it would be more appropriate to compare the disc to another piece of fibrocartilage rather than elastic cartilage? e.g. in the nose, or intervertebral discs? TMJ Replacement

edit

It is possible to replace this joint like others. See Hensher R for definitive articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.151.230.208 (talk) 20:49, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Cure

edit

what is the cure that?

If you are asking how TMJ disorders are cured, you might find an answer at temporomandibular joint disorder (you may find an answer there even if this is not your question). DRosenbach (Talk | Contribs) 01:52, 16 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Real-time MRI movies

edit

Hi, we added some movies created with Real-time MRI, but this was reverted, because of we have a conflict of interest. (We are the authors of the movies). Reading the policy regarding COI I do not see how this revert is justified, but I do not want to start an edit war... It would be nice if somebody could take a look at the last edit of zangshuo517 and add the movie back in. In my opinion, our movies would be a nice contribution to this page. I agree that it is a nice addition and have put it back in. — Mr. Stradivarius 04:05, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Clarify wording in Innervation section

edit

Where it says: "Sensory innervation of the temporomandibular joint is derived from the auriculotemporal and masseteric branches of V3 or mandibular branch of the trigeminal nerve." Perhaps a comma is required after V3 so it reads: "Sensory innervation of the temporomandibular joint is derived from the auriculotemporal and masseteric branches of V3, or mandibular branch of the trigeminal nerve." As it is, it implies that V3 and mandibular branch of trigeminal nerve are separate things. 60.241.16.210 (talk) 07:36, 20 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge of Capsule of temporomandibular joint into Temporomandibular joint

edit

This neglected article is better placed in the joint it relates to (where it already has more extensive coverage) Tom (LT) (talk) 23:57, 28 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Need to clarify image or legend.

edit

The image of the skull of a sheep does not (at least on my Android mobile) display the line and arrow mentioned in it's associated legend. 193.82.248.197 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 03:42, 22 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Grammar needs to be corrected. Tmj (one joint on the left and one on the right) and tmj, when treated as a singular unit, are both singular nouns. Adjective and verb agreement are lacking in many instances. 2600:1702:1860:2C20:D86F:E30D:8611:9359 (talk) 01:42, 7 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
