The subject matter here is not Temporal power but Temporal power of the Papacy. A move is suggested. Yes?--Wetman 06:45, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

"Temporal power" is the catholic term, so could we have it like "Temporal power (Papal)"? --Drieakko 07:54, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes, the State (not the Church) is the temporal power (proper or simple), so this article should definitely be renamed. Either suggested title would be far, far preferable to the current misleading title. JKeck (talk) 01:29, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Temporal power (papal) → Temporal power of the Holy See – As discussed above on this talk page. While "Temporal power of the Papacy" could be an alternative, "Temporal power of the Holy See" would be in WP:CONSISTENCY with precurrent standard name of the Holy See. More of a suitable catch-all subject naming rather than "Papal". The Papal states were dependent on the jurisdiction that we call the Holy See per WP:CONSENSUS.
