Affluence

Could someone collect statistics on the residents' average income and compare them to the whole of Melbourne? It is unusual for a suburb to be described as being affluent in an encyclopedia; and it could be that there is a real estate agent, or for that matter a high-end developer, falsifying data in an attempt to talk up his or her portfolio. Founding Families

Unless it can be proven that Newman was not Australian, it is reasonable to call him the first permanent resident of an Australian Templestowe. Ottre (talk) 07:03, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Was that addressed at me? The reason I removed the big list of founding families is because it doesn't really add much to the article - about the only way it could would be if there were articles on each family. Feel free to chase up other opinions though. Wongm (talk) 07:19, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes. As you might have guessed (from looking at the articles on other suburbs of Melbourne), the source materials on Templestowe are particularly extensive; and, pragmatically, there is ground for an article on each family. The inclusion adds a lot of depth to the history of pioneer towns in this country, given that the public history of Victoria is comparatively small. Ottre (talk) 13:52, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
