Picture: Can we TRY to keep it this time?! edit

Can we try our best to keep the image i've put on this page. It needs one but it keeps getting deleted. If it says it may get deleted, delete the warning and add something that may save it.

  • Edited to change the link from "Ultimate Fighter" (a video game) to "Ultimate Fighting" (the sport Booth participated in on their trip to Vegas). 10/15/08

Asperger's??? edit

If I am not mistaken, doesn't TB have asperger's syndrome??? --Miagirljmw14 Miagirljmw~talk 22:39, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • While I would agree that it's very likely (and this is coming from some1 w/ Asperger's), wikipedia has a strict policy against speculation which, unless mentioned in the show, this is.  :-/ --24.6.50.133 (talk) 03:55, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • I don't like most speculation like this, like the idea House has Asperger's, but in this case that does kind of make sense. Although I think the statement that she's similar to someone with Asperger's is in it, as there's a source, and that's probably as far as it needs to go.--T. Anthony (talk) 15:03, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • the cited source does not actually mention Asperger's syndrome at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.35.163.219 (talk) 05:40, 1 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Move to Temperance "Bones" Brennan edit

I propose the title be moved from Temperance Brennan (Bones) to Temperance "Bones" Brennan, since she is often referred to as this in promotional material and reviews, and since the series title specifically refers to this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.203.119.71 (talk) 02:53, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Gun-toting Anthropologist? edit

There should be some explanation within the "Characterization" section about when and why Bones started carrying what looks to be a large, 45-caliber pistol. I've been watching re-runs recently but they're jumping all over the place so I haven't seen the proper sequencing of if and when she was trained and authorized to carry such a large firearm. Further, it just seems obtuse that her detached, misanthropic character who works to solve murders would be so quick now to want to kill others, albeit criminal suspects.

In the first season she comes off as an unlikely Judo expert, and at some point in the second season evolves to "carrying". Her character doesn't even appear to have been trained properly to wield a weapon and it's not clear why Booth, a highly trained FBI special agent, would tolerate her pointing a weapon during an approach-situation, especially with her behind him where he's more vulnerable to her friendly fire. Again, this is a significant element of her character and should be explained by those with the story detail at hand. Illudium-Q36 (talk) 02:09, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

For what it's worth, Bones wanted to carry a gun as early as "A Man on Death Row" which was meant to be the fourth episode of season one, and shown as the seventh episode. —MJBurrage(TC) 23:15, 23 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
"Bones" learned to hunt in her early years. The transition from long gun to hand is not difficult . Since she teams with Seely on a regular basis why is this a stretch?173.21.185.94 (talk) 01:25, 31 January 2010 (UTC)Susan DieganReply

"Appearances" edit

I get the motivation behind having a discussion of the character's development through the seasons, under the "Appearances" heading. This seems to encourage some needless repetition, where some character traits are discussed in one section and again under the "Appearances" heading. As Bones is the title character, it doesn't seem useful to track her specific appearances, and the specific character revelations and developments discussed here could be folded into other sections as appropriate. 15 February 2010 writingjen (talk) Jennifer Spirko —Preceding undated comment added 06:07, 15 February 2010 (UTC).Reply

Brennan's kids edit

Was there ever an episode in Bones that said she had a child before, but she didn't take care of it, or put it up for adoption or something? I keep remembering something like it when I saw season 4 episode 25. Alphapeta (talk) 03:47, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Relationships edit

Under relationships, shouldn't Brennan's brief relationship with Agent Sully be mentioned?

New subsection added, brief information given (he was in only three or four episodes in >100 total for the series). Jhfortier (talk · contribs ) 03:47, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Overhaul edit

This article needs quite a bit of work; the citations especially need to be turned into inline references. Also, the large section on appearances might need to be reduced a bit, as it seems to take up an overly large section given its relevance. I'm going to work on it a bit, and hopefully get it to C or B class in the WikiProject TV quality scale, and would love if anyone wanted to pitch in. Jhfortier (talk · contribs ) 03:03, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Another quick note: I plan to fill in all of the "cite needed" templates as soon as I re-watch the relevant episodes. Also, I'm going to re-arrange some of the sections so that they mirror the order found in the articles Angela Montenegro and Jack Hodgins (Bones); I think consistency among the characters of a tv series is a good thing. Thank you. Jhfortier (talk · contribs ) 03:22, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
More big changes: I'm going to be deleting a lot of the "Appearance" section; much of it ought to be incorporated into other sections (such as character history or personality) and it's largely unsourced or overly-detailed for a summary-style article. I truly hope nobody is offended by my bold edits, but I really think this article will be more usable and readable if it is reduced in size, tidied up to remove unnecessary detail, and filled with proper citations (so people can find the right episode if they want). Jhfortier (talk · contribs ) 04:48, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ok: the appearances section is gone: all of the information that was sourceable (some of it was opinion/OR) has been moved to the appropriate sections (history, personality, relationships etc). Much of it now has inline citations. I'm working on integrating all of the excellent information into consistent, readable prose, with cites (of course). A good copyedit will be needed later, as I'm sure at least a couple of hanging sentences will be found. I truly hope that nobody is offended by these major changes. Infobox edit

I've gone ahead and made a wp:bold edit to make all of the infoboxes for Bones characters match. Some were orange, other purple, etc. The ones for Temperance "Bones" Brennan were light green, and that seemed the most visible/readable. I'm not at all attached to the colour "lightgreen" but wanted something uniform and had to pick something. Jhfortier (Talk · contribs ) 17:38, 3 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Temperance is always the same age as (the real) Emily Deschanel.

She's Pregnant edit

Brennan becomes pregnant when she stays in Booths house after Mr. Vincent Nigel-Murry was shot and killed. She has the baby season seven episode seven. Booth and Brennan marry season nine episode six and now (season 10) are expecting a second child.
