Proposed merger with sacred grove

edit

I'm against the merge. The reason is that sacred groves are cross-cultural phenomena while temenoi are specific to ancient Greece; further, a temenos is not necessarily a grove, it's any parcel of land dedicated to a god/hero. --Akhilleus (talk) 14:44, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Against. Not all temenoi had groves; moreover, the term appears in Linear B as the parcel of land and it means parcel of land.Dave (talk) 17:10, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Against. A sacred grove is just a subset of temenos and temenos can have different forms from a sacred grov. Mdebets (talk) 10:21, 22 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Kaj..."Holy grove" redirects to "grove" redirects to "sacred grove". Ummm...I know this is not peer-reviewed, but what is with the willful ignorance? Or is it me not knowing the complexities of the english language, and should know better that "holy" and "sacred" are not the same thing? Give me a break people...has wikipedia become corrupted because it is so large, or large because it it corrupt? 76.171.211.8 (talk) 09:05, 19 July 2008 (UTC) P.S. "Kaj"; Language: Esperanto; meaning: "and".Reply
