Quotation marks edit

The article has been moved from plain Teclea carpopunctifera to "Teclea carpopunctifera" and back. I think the title without quotation marks is correct; the name Teclea carpopunctifera is in IPNI at 775296-1. The missing name, that could be used in quotation marks to show it hasn't been published, is "Vepris carpopunctifera". I think that PoWO treats the species as unplaced because it doesn't accept the genus Teclea but doesn't have a name in Vepris to call it. Peter coxhead (talk) 16:35, 1 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Peter coxhead: I have no memory of making this move. It looks like I updated the POWO ref to use the template so can only imagine I did it based on that, but now at least POWO has no quotation marks so happy for it to move back. My only comment is that POWO says it is an 'unplaced name', but don't know what that means. I think I would prefer POWO as a source than IUCN, I've noticed IUCN sometimes use junior synonyms, and also I don't think the reports are updated once published, unlike POWO. @YorkshireExpat: well, it was in January when you moved it; a couple of months in Wikipedia is about my memory limit! I think, as I noted above, that PoWO uses "unplaced" when there's no legitimate accepted name available. Peter coxhead (talk) 18:29, 1 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
