Te Ati Awa or Te Atiawa edit

Should this article be named Te Ati Awa or Te Atiawa? The 3 word name is used by some history sites and other encyclopedias, but the 2 word name is used by the iwi's own website and by the Waitangi Tribunal (on official documents like this one). It could be argued that the latter sites are more authoritative, which would suggest that Wikipedia should use the 2 word name. --Pakaraki (talk) 03:10, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Both names are in common use, and there's no official names list AFAIK. Te Kāhui Māngai uses "Te Ātiawa", while NatLib's Iwi-Hapū Names List prefers "Te Āti Awa". I don't mind which name is used (I was using Te Ara when writing this article and didn't put much thought into what to name it). If I had to choose I'd probably go with "Te Ātiawa". On another note, should the article also be split into TAA (Taranaki) and TAA (Wellington)? Liveste (talkedits) 12:52, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
