Yes it is higher than any peak in Portugal proper, at 2,986 m. But Pico da Neblina in Brazil... presumably part of the same colonial empire... is 2994 m, slightly higher. Now, you could argue the extent of what is now Brazil vs what was controlled by Portugal prior to its independence perhaps.... Aapold (talk) 14:45, 11 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
