I thought Tariq meant "way" or "path" or "road" in arabic, not "shinning star"

In the Arabic Wiki section it says that "tareeq al-hareer" is the Silk Road, for example.

The word "tareeq" (Arabic: طاريق meaning "way" or "road") is not the same as the word "tariq" (Arabic: طارق meaning as described in the article). The first one is spelles with a long i the second one with a short one.
