Met sources and images edit

The Met essay Daoism and Daoist Art has some additional background and facts to cite. And that page has "See works of art" at the top - a band of Taoist artworks at the Met that should all be on Wikimedia Commons already. Let me know if there is a particular image there you'd like to use, and if you can't find the filename on Commons, I'll add it.--Pharos (talk) 16:34, 20 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Elegant gathering edit

Hello - I had a problem getting the media editor to add a caption box onto this image (but not others)Elegant Gathering in the Apricot Garden MET DP273860.jpg Hannah Silverman (talk) 23:26, 23 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I don’t understand that myself, having experimented a little. This week I’ve got the flu and might have time to investigate properly. Meanwhile I notice that the article is one half Chicago and one quarter Taoism. Needs more connection between the philosophical and the artistic I think. Get well soon! I agree with your comments, it needs more connection between the art and the philosophy. I think the really knowledgeable woman at our table was going to add art and text. Did you mean half China and one quarter Taoism?? Hannah Silverman (talk) 18:34, 28 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Kimdramer: was working her Han tombs article, helped by the fact that it was the topic of her doctoral thesis. That's out of my reach even when my mind is functioning, and now it looks like weeks before I'm smart enough to find and fix the caption problem which is pretty much up my alley. As for Chicago, the exhibition is what I meant but it seems I was exaggerating. Good grief; with tonight's sniffling and coughing I'm too dumb even to reconstruct my thoughts of a few days ago. I'll do some picture sorting that doesn't require so much brain power. Jim.henderson (talk) 04:59, 2 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
