Hi @Lds:. I have a question about changing the Infobox Chinese historical biography to the more common Infobox person. I don't know much about Infoboxes, but is there any way to retain or restore the information that gets deleted (such as simplified graphs, W-G romanization, zi and hao names, etc.)? Could the Template:Infobox Chinese be embedded? Thanks, Keahapana (talk) 20:44, 24 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, that's good to know. And thanks for all the work you do on improving WP. Would you like to restore the info or should I? Best wishes, Keahapana (talk) 22:01, 25 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Lds: Well, not so much. I was able to figure out embedding the {{Infobox Chinese, but the problem is that Sun Yat-sen doesn't use {{Infobox person, it uses {{Infobox officeholder, which has different parameters such as native_name (wikilinked to other names.) The current Other names link to the Tao Hongjing#Names section doesn't look right. How can this be fixed? Thanks, Keahapana (talk) 01:01, 29 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Keahapana:{{Chinese}} allows only up to three alternative names. In Tao's case, he has too many other names, so it is not possible to make all of them show up in the embedded {{Chinese}} template. I think it is best to include only the important ones (e.g. family and given names, courtesy name, pseudonym). I have attempted to fix the infobox such that it looks more like the one on Sun Yat-sen's article. Hope it looks fine now. Thanks. LDScontact me07:05, 29 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
