Image:1dam-logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. Tamer Nafar had a appearance in the theatre play Anti Oedipus: Kaddish to Shulamit, where he performed a political love song in English. MOS:ETHNICITY

@Atlantic306: - in regards to diff - this isn't a RS issue (sourcing Arab-Israeli or Palestinian-Israeli is trivial). The issue here is MOS:ETHNICITY - In most modern-day cases this will be the country of which the person is a citizen, national or permanent resident .... Ethnicity, religion, or sexuality should generally not be in the lead unless it is relevant to the subject's notability. The subject here is an Israeli citizen and lives in Israel. Palestinian is an ethnic marker here. please provide a clear rationale to violate MOS:ETHNICITY in the first sentence of the lead of this BLP. Icewhiz (talk) 19:20, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

• • We need to respect the subjects description of his ethnicity, it is backed up in rs and Israel is not like most cases because the ethnicity is disputed on a very large scale by the people who describe themselves as Palistinian - in other words it is a special case that is an exception to the rule imv. Also he makes his ethnicity the overarching focus of his music and public speaking (sometimes controversially as in the anti-semitic section) so its more relevant than most people, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 22:02, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

There is no disrespect in stating his citizenship, per MOS:ETHNICITY, and covering his ethnicity later. Note that we're leaving in the two sentence lede - "He is the leader and a founding member of DAM, the first Palestinian hip hop group. - so we are covering Palestinian hip-hop in the very next sentence (which is indeed relevant to the subject's notability - and provides context to why it is notable). Ethnic/religion-marking people is very much against the spirit of Wikipedia and MOS:ETHNICITY. Icewhiz (talk) 04:42, 19 July 2019 (UTC)

Footnote 11 and 12 are from depreciated sources

As this is a BLP and a person involved in controversial topics, the use of a depreciated source (RFC: Electronic Intifada) is not appropriate. I would like to remove the content and source, unless a better source is available? FortunateSons (talk) 14:54, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
