Nice job on the article's improvement thus far, I never knew she was also a singer. I got her Date of Birth from this source Darreg (talk) 12:59, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
That's a just website, the source I provided is a reputable newspaper in Nigeria that has been operating since 1971, and going by Wikipedia's notability standards is pretty much reliable than the source you provided. I'm sure you know the right thing to do here. Stanleytux (talk) 13:10, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I believe you now understand that there was an error in her DOB and I've taken care of that already. If you feel I'm wrong donot hesitate to let me know. Thanks. Stanleytux (talk) 13:40, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Best of Nollywood Magazine is not just a website, its a reputable magazine and online platform when it comes to Nollywood related articles(organisers of Best of Nollywood Awards). I still stand by 1987 (as per sources given) as her DOB and you should try providing a link here to prove your claim as I did. If I may also add Best of Nollywood Magazine is very active nationwide whereas Tide Newspaper is only in the South-South zone. thanks and I appreciate your effort in ensuring correct information are on Wikipedia. According to the May 2010 report by Nigerian newspaper The Tide which you can read here it says "The 25 year old entertainer and the fourth, out of six children who hails from Bulu-Angiama, Bayelsa State, disclosed that the movie will soon hit the market." Your source's reliability is still unclear, it doesn't even have a wikipedia page to start with, and it is just a website. The notability of Wikipedia articles still rely strongly on newspapers more than websites (See WP:NEWSORG). If you continue to disagree I will have to take this matter to WP:3O. Stanleytux (talk) 16:34, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I still don't agree with you, your source only gives an age without saying anything about her actual date of birth, it is easier to make a mistake just stating how old she is than to actually give an exact date of birth. I suggest you take this to WP:3O because I plan on reverting your edit again in 5 minutes time. PS: Best of Nollywood Magazine ia also a newspaper with nationwide circulation. thanks bro. Let's try to resolve this guys. Stanleytux is right about The Tide being more notable than Best of Nollywood Magazine. Apart from these two sources, are there any other sources that favor or oppose these two? I think that more reliable sources will verify the rightful age. Two reliable sources are not enough. We need more. Hopefully, this will resolve this issue. Versace1608 (Talk) 21:06, 5 May 2014 (UTC) Update: I don't think that The Tide reference may be accurate. Here's why: The article was posted on the website in 2010. Assuming that this information is correct, it would imply that she was 25 years old in 2010. It would also imply that she would be turning 29 years old (if she hasn't already). On the contrary, Darreg's source gives the exact date of birth. Not only that, the article may have been written in first person. Versace1608 (Talk) 21:16, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Here's another discrepancy. According to this Vanguard article posted in 2011, she was 24 years old. If that is right, it would imply that she is turning 27 years old this year (or is 27 already). Versace1608 (Talk) 21:20, 5 May 2014 (UTC) Update: I think that I have settled the case. According to this PM News article written in 2011, she was 24 years old. This would imply that she is (or will be turning) 27 this year. I'll wait till you guys find another reliable source(s) that will support your respective claims. As for now, I'm in the leaderboard lol. Versace1608 (Talk) 21:37, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Stanleytux & @Versace1608 The fact that there is a Wikipedia article for a news agency does not necessarily mean that it is more notable than another news agency that does not have a Wikipedia article infact Tide Newspaper has a Wiki article simply because you decided to create it. There are so many more notable newspapers without Wikipedia articles, does that mean that they are less-notable? And secondly newspapers are generally more notable than websites on Wikipedia but a newspaper like PM News or Thenetng is definitely not more notable than a website like Sahara Reporters or Eonline or even New-york Times. I believe Tide News also falls in this category, even though its a newspaper it is nowhere close to the notability of newspapers like The Punch or Vanguard which Wikipedia was refering to in its guideline. I just wanted to clear the air on that. Seanord (talk) 12:43, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Seanord: I can see you are displaying some of the newspapers you prefer as reliable sources, which is good but here on Wikipedia, there is no such thing as "list of reliable newspapers". On Wikipedia, a topic is only notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, that is when it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list. With that said, News medias or any other topic that has a Wikipedia page is considered notable for it to even exist in the encyclopedia per WP:GNG (note on Wikipedia and not outside Wikipedia). Here, on the wikipedia, lawyering and your opinion (if it does not fall in within the rules) hardly counts, we follow Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.Stanleytux (talk) 13:25, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Seanord: You're right. A newspaper's notability should not be define by whether or not it has a Wikipedia article. Just to reiterate Stanleytux's statements. In order for a subject to have a stand alone article on Wikipedia, it must meet Wikipedia's notability requirements. The website Darreg cited is less reliable than The Tide Newspaper. For starters, the website is not a newspaper. Please do not pick and choose between newspapers, or put them against one another for criticism. If you prefer Vanguard to The Tide, that is fine. All of these newspapers are reliable in my opinion. Just because a newspaper has a larger staff (or has being around longer) doesn't mean that it is better than others.
